Hot on the trail of our post the other day about the build up of dirt that a customer power washed into a thick mud paste that blocked their drain, we got another call from a customer in Pollokshields who had done something similar.
They had fitted a new patio in their garden two years ago and were giving it its first powerwash clean since then. All the sand grains between the tiles were blasted away and were washed down the drain. Now you may not think that some particles of sand would pose much of a problem but in this case, there were a lot of sand grains.
So the drain got filled with sand which formed a nice filter. A small amount of rain water would drain away over a period of time – a larger amount of rain would not. And we live in Glasgow so it is a bit of a given that when it rains, it is going to rain a lot.
And that is why we got a call from the South Side customer because their nice clean patio had turned into a miniature pond as the drain had blocked and the rain water was forming a massive puddle on the patio.
The customer called JSL Drainage because we are one of the best drainage companies in Glasgow and unblocking drains is our speciality.
They booked us in for a time slot that fitted with their schedule and as we always do, we turned up in that slot.
We checked out the issue and quoted a price. We jet blasted the drain to remove the blockage and saw the immediate smile on the customers face as the water began to drain away quickly. Problem solved.
We checked over the drain and did a few tests to ensure that the water was freely flowing away and when we confidently announced that the problem had been fixed, we moved on to our next drain blockage emergency that conveniently was also in the South Side of Glasgow.
