During the summer sun, you might be thinking that there is little to worry about with blocked drains in Glasgow.
After all , there are no autumn leaves falling off trees to accumulate and block the drains. But what the summer months do have is good weather (though Glasgow in Summer can easily resemble most other places in the Winter). And good weather means gardening.
And that is where this story begins. We were called out to a south side Glasgow address from a customer who had a blocked drain. They had spent all weekend gardening and decided to pressure washer clean their patio. A combination of the pressure washer water mixing with all the dirt and earth created a thick mud which managed to clog the drain. Now the customer didn’t realise this as they just thought the drain was slowly draining the water away and went on to other things. But the water didn’t drain away. The problem was multiplied because the blockage was far down the pipe.
So when the customer called JSL Drainage, they spoke to one of our helpful call team who booked them in for a slot that suited the customer.
One of our drainage experts promptly arrived at the Shawlands address and began assessing the problem. Once we knew what the issue was, we quoted the price which the home owner was happy with and agreed that they were happy for us to proceed.
We unblocked the drain and jet blasted it to ensure that all remains of the blockage were pushed clear.
We then ran a few tests to ensure that the blockage had indeed been cleared, demonstrated this to the South Side customer and then went on our way to the next blocked drain emergency.
