When a drain gets blocked, it is not always a guarantee that the resident will know about it. That is because sometimes, the blocked drain can cause a joint section in the drain pipe to leak. And a lot of the time, that leaking drain pipe is under the floor or behind a wall ie. you can’t see it.
That is why we get so many calls from customers across Glasgow reporting that they can smell something funny from under the floor or up through the drain hole.
And that is exactly what happened the other day in Jordanhill.
One of our customers called us because they could smell something funny from under their hall floor. As always, our drainage team jumped to action, turning up when we said we would and quickly getting to work. We sent our drainage expert Gary down under the floor to check out what was wrong and he quickly reported the issue. So we began my removing the escaped waste water that had been pushed out of the blocked drain. We then repaired and strengthened the join in the drainage pipe before blasting away the actual blockage. We carried out a number of tests to ensure that the water was indeed flowing freely now and once we were happy with that, we cleaned up all the left over mess and headed out to fix the next blocked drain emergency in the city.
